The first stop of the year for The High Chronicles was one for the books—the Farmers Cup / Harvest Cup Awards, experienced as The High Chronicles with a little VIP flavor.
If I’m being honest, I’m a little biased when it comes to Farmers Cup events in and around San Diego. And for good reason. They’ve been holding it down for over 10 years, consistently creating events that celebrate the culture, the craft, and the community. Every single time, the energy gets better, the people get fresher, and the vibe gets stronger.
Adding to that local love, Ganja Chica Clothing was established just up the road in Vista, inspired by SoCal culture and the lifestyle we live every day. From time to time, you’ll find Ganja Chica posted up as a vendor at Farmers Cup events—and watching it grow alongside this community has been nothing short of amazing.
Planning the Day & the Fits
I had been planning to attend this event as The High Chronicles with my friend Kimmye, and all week long we were mapping out the day—especially what we were going to wear. Because let’s be real, the outfit is part of the experience.
The day of the event, I fired up some Florcal Maui Punch while getting ready and putting the final look together:
An oversized red Ganja Chica t-shirt
Faded grey bell crop pants
The new olive green Ganja Chica Mary Jane flats
A mulit colored red blue olive green vintage Scarf
A black leather jacket I thrifted the weekend before (still one of my favorite finds)
When I picked up Ms. Kimmye, she was already bringing the vibes:
A gold Bob Marley t-shirt
A copper cardigan sweater
Jeans
White tennis shoes
Gold pot-leaf earrings with quartz crystals —simple but powerful
On the way to the event, our original intention was to interview attendees about what they partook in before getting dressed. But once we arrived, it was clear—the community had a different idea.
The Community Was the Canvas
As we walked around to get acclimated, say high, high to friends, and meet new faces, the creativity of the community completely took over.
San Diego was on fire.
From head to toe—hats, shoes, socks, earrings, backpacks—every detail told a story. Whether people were laid-back or fully dressed to impress, the style and uniqueness were undeniable. The fashion alone was a visual celebration of the culture.
One accessory that truly stopped us in our tracks was a custom headpiece made of beautiful white flowers, paired with perfectly trimmed stems of massive cannabis buds, created by Ms. Leslie of Flowers of Flowers. Watching some of these beautiful souls pair that piece with their outfits was pure art, and I was lucky enough to capture those moments.
Until the Next One…
Be sure to check out all the dopeness I captured at the Harvest Cup in the video below.
And don’t worry—we’ll be back in San Diego for the Farmers Cup 420 Edition on May 30th, where you can shop Ganja Chica Clothing, support amazing brands, and vibe with all my friends.
So fire up some dankness 💨Stay blessed 🙏Stay blazed 🌿Have an amazing day—and make every outfit count ✨
